Buyers & Suppliers Shape IMPA Singapore 2019

Will Bixby and Nicole Roberts spent four packed days meeting the locals in Singapore, the city that never stops.

Since holding its first event in Singapore six years ago, IMPA has continued to develop its presence and credibility within the maritime procurement community. Procurement professionals are looking to IMPA to help them build their knowledge base, improve their daily working practices and bring shared ideas and values. This is all brought together each year with the IMPA Singapore event, now firmly established as a valued two-day programme not to be missed. IMPA is very lucky to have, once again, the support of some of the industry's best known companies on the programme. Whilst in Singapore, Will and Nicole met purchasers and suppliers who very kindly gave their time and shared their expertise on the hot topics that the Association will be covering on the 5th & 6th of November.

New 2019 Announcements:

David Kelly, Director of Asia Pacific & Andrew Wong, Partnership Executive Asia Pacific, IMAREST

The perfect partnership, IMPA & The Institute of Marine Engineering & Science & Technology have many shared values and now IMAREST are supporting IMPA Singapore. This years programme will have a focus on bringing the Procurement & Technical departments together with shared presentations and a Superintendents Panel Discussion.

Denzal Hargreaves, Regional Chief Surveyor, Production & QHSE Manager, DNV-GL

New for this years programme, we are delighted to announce that DNV-GL have agreed to present a morning workshop: 'The ship inspection process, what purchasers really need to know'. With detentions costing thousands, it will help purchasers to understand the process and what they could do to be prepared rather than always being reactive.

Kevin Vanderkerff, Online Deployment Manager, Wärtsilä

Also New for this year, Wärtsilä, Event Sponsors, have agreed to develop a seminar session at IMPA Singapore. With a focus on spare parts, from genuine to non-genuine, life cycle planning and the latest technology advancements, there will be a lot for purchasers and technical departments to learn.

Tiffany Tan, Marketing Communication Executive, Francois Marine Services

We are delighted to have the support of Francois Marine Services confirmed as Event Sponsor.

Always a helping hand, Ryan Dalgado of Thome Ship Management has, for many years now, supported IMPA and has been instrumental in developing the Singapore programme, having been based here for several years now. The team has based themselves downtown and invited various IMPA members and non-members to 'drop in' for a cold drink after work. It was nice to meet latest members, Singapore Maritime Network and to hear more thoughts on how the Association should develop the programme.

There is a lot to do between now and November, but IMPA always likes a challenge and is very lucky to have so much support to make it happen.
