Levelling Up IMPA Singapore 2019

Dynamic new programme and move to world-class venue announced as IMPA Singapore advances to the next level in 2019

IMPA Singapore is heading in a new direction for 2019 and beyond, with a move to a world-class venue – the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. From November 2019, IMPA Singapore occupies an exhibition hall with several adjacent rooms that hosts an exciting and dynamic programme which includes new conferences, continued Procurement Information Forum sessions, Education programmes for procurement professionals and a dedicated two-day programme for technical staff.

The programme will also feature social events and other presentations and demonstrations, all of which will be FREE for the maritime buyer and professional to attend.

The move places the event right at the heart of the region’s business district, giving purchasers easy access to a high-level programme, senior industry speakers and the sector’s leading education programme. Speaking to MT, Event Director Will Bixby said this was one of the motivating factors behind the move.

“We knew the best place to be was downtown, close to the offices of the ship owner and management companies and, although it was not easy, an opportunity came up to book space at the Suntec Centre, a purpose-built exhibition and conference centre right in the heart of the business district downtown.

“It meant moving from October to November, but the feeling among the stakeholder suppliers and purchasers was that it was the right decision to take the event to the next level.”

Next-level exhibition

Suntec Singapore raises the game for the annual IMPA event in Singapore. Its lighted and spacious rooms provide the perfect setting for a comfortable and highly-engaging programme and it is ideally situated in the centre of the town with easy access by private or public transport.

The exhibition space will provide a larger area where all exhibitors can be located together for both their and visitors’ convenience. The stand layout offers exhibiting sponsors a choice of three value-packed opportunities.

The new venue means IMPA Singapore can offer a shell-scheme exhibition with 4x2 and 2x2 booths, but also offer the poseur-table package. Prices have remained the same, Will added, while the shell-scheme package is included in the same price as the previous table-top offer; suppliers are now getting more for their money.

“The new venue is bigger, meaning we can double the size of the exhibition to 65 spaces for suppliers. The new venue is close to offices, so purchasers can come to the event for a couple of hours over lunch or after work, and the new programme will reflect that potential.

“The new venue offers much more flexibility when it comes to room hire, too. We can still run the free-to-attend purchasers’ programme and IMPA training courses, as well as add more presentation opportunities since there are many more rooms available.

“Since IMPA Singapore was launched five years ago, we have seen market conditions fall away and slowly return. Through this period, we retained the support of some key Purchasing Managers and Suppliers to deliver an event of real value. These new plans are exciting and the whole team are working hard to deliver 'the next level' IMPA Singapore in 2019.”
